Ikamvalethu Engineering Solutions (IES) has launched a certified lifting machinery capability in Gqeberha aimed at supporting South Africa’s wind energy sector.
The company said the new capability will provide lifting machinery inspection, load testing, maintenance and related technical services for wind energy projects and other renewable energy infrastructure.
According to IES, the availability of additional specialised local service providers is becoming increasingly important as South Africa expands its renewable energy project pipeline.
“We believe the market benefits when owners and OEMs have access to more specialised, responsive and high-quality service partners,” said IES Managing Director Patrick Njoloza. “This launch is about strengthening the broader renewable energy value chain and expanding the services we can deliver to the industry.”
The company said the certified Lifting Machinery Entity capability is intended to strengthen local technical support services available to renewable energy projects, particularly in the Eastern Cape, which hosts a significant share of South Africa’s installed wind generation capacity.
IES said the facility will support compliance, inspection and maintenance requirements for lifting equipment used across renewable energy projects.
