Africa Energy Indaba 2026 set for power-packed discussions on energy’s future

Africa Energy Indaba 2026 – at the Cape Town International Convention Centre on March 3-5 next year – will present a dynamic suite of deep-dive energy forums. These forums have been designed to address Africa’s most urgent energy challenges while unlocking new opportunities for investment, innovation and inclusive growth.

The forums will gather policymakers, industry leaders, financiers, innovators and development partners to explore solutions across the energy value chain. Over three days, the discussions will provide targeted insights, strategic dialogue and project-driven outcomes to accelerate Africa’s energy transformation.

Programme highlights:

Day 1 – Policy, power pools, investment and sustainability (March 3)

  • African Power Pools & Regional Integration Forum: Examining cross-border electricity trade and interconnections to accelerate continental power integration with SAPP, EAPP, WAPP, CAPP, governments, utilities and regional development banks
  • Energy Investment & Financing Forum: Connecting investors and developers to mobilise capital for Africa’s energy infrastructure – from sovereign wealth funds and DFIs to private equity and green finance

Day 2 – Renewables, green hydrogen and future energy innovation (March 4)

  • Renewable Energy & Green Hydrogen Forum: Showcasing Africa’s renewable potential and positioning the continent in the global hydrogen economy
  • Future Energy & Innovation Forum: Exploring emerging technologies including energy storage, AI, smart grids and e-mobility, highlighting Africa as a testbed for innovation

Day 3 – Inclusion, youth, partnerships and showcases (March 5)

  • Women in Energy Leadership Forum: Championing women’s leadership and participation in Africa’s energy sector through mentorship, policy engagement and skills development
  • Youth in Energy & Skills Development Forum: Empowering young innovators and professionals with career pathways, entrepreneurship opportunities and capacity building

The deep-dive specialised forums will complement the event’s flagship plenary sessions by creating focused platforms to:
