The National Transmission Company South Africa (NTCSA) has confirmed the appointment of Monde Bala as CEO, effective October 1.
Bala served as Interim CEO in August following leadership shifts announced in July when Segomoco Scheppers stepped down. At the time, NTCSA said a permanent appointment would follow a competitive process.
Bala will oversee the NTCSA’s work to expand South Africa’s transmission grid, attract private investment through the Transmission Development Plan and advance operational unbundling in line with the Electricity Regulation Amendment Act.
“He brings 27 years of experience and insight to the role, and we look forward to continuing our work with him and the executive team as we drive forward our strategic deliverables,” NTCSA Chairperson Priscillah Mabelane says.
