Renewable energy (RE) has grown significantly in South Africa at utility and private scales, leading to integration challenges at distribution level. The current network is passive and designed for unidirectional power flow, limiting its ability to respond to load changes. As distributed generation (DG) connections increase, the network must become more dynamic.
