When anti-tamper design backfires

A meter model deployed by a South African municipality features a transparent plastic cover designed to prevent tampering by restricting access to the terminals. If the cover is removed while the meter is live, an internal disconnect is triggered and can only be reset with a password. In theory, this should deter interference and safeguard the system.
