Vertiv adds intelligent static transfer switch to EMEA power portfolio

Vertiv has launched a new static transfer switch for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region – designed to strengthen power reliability in data centres, financial services and industrial operations.

The Vertiv PowerSwitch 7000 provides automatic transfers between two independent power sources without interrupting power to the load, forming part of high-availability architecture for facilities where interruptions are not tolerated.

“By combining reliable switching, operational flexibility, maintenance simplicity and intelligent diagnostics, Vertiv PowerSwitch 7000 sets a high standard for operational excellence in power switching technology for even the most demanding data centre applications,” says Greg Hoge, Global Director of Product Management at Vertiv.

The system supports redundancy for single-corded loads and offers additional protection for dual-corded equipment. Internally redundant architecture eliminates single points of failure.

Key technical features include:

  • Compartmentalised design, separating high-voltage and maintenance areas for improved safety.
  • Front access servicing that allows for uninterrupted operation during maintenance.
  • Flexible installation options, including top and bottom cable entry.
  • Hot-swappable fans, modular Silicon-Controlled Rectifiers and tool-free air filters for reduced downtime.
  • A nine-inch touchscreen with waveform capture capability for diagnostics.
  • Integration with Vertiv Intellislot RDU120 for remote monitoring, which is UL2900-1 cybersecurity certified.

The device is intended to work alongside Vertiv’s existing power infrastructure offerings, including UPS systems and power distribution units, and is supported by Vertiv Global Services.
