Enlit Africa 2026 puts investment, infrastructure and innovation in focus

Enlit Africa has announced its 2026 conference programme set to focus on key issues shaping Africa’s power, energy and water sectors.

At the Cape Town International Convention Centre from May 19-21, 2026, Enlit Africa will gather industry leaders, policymakers, investors, utilities and technology providers across the continent and beyond. The event is expected to host more than 280 speakers, 250 exhibitors and 7 200 attendees.

The 2026 programme includes eight content tracks with focus on practical solutions, investment opportunities and the infrastructure required to support long-term growth.

A new addition to the programme is African Nuclear 2.0, which will examine the shift from nuclear planning to implementation. Topics include South Africa’s Koeberg life extension, Ghana’s nuclear procurement process and the role of nuclear power and small modular reactors in Africa’s future energy mix.

Grid expansion and modernisation will also feature, including a session on independent transmission projects exploring the role of private-sector participation in addressing transmission constraints.

The programme includes generation masterclasses covering gas-to-power, hydropower, hydrogen, clean coal and nuclear. Sessions on artificial intelligence will examine the use of digital tools in improving grid performance and utility operations.

The co-located Water Security Africa event will focus on water resilience, reuse, infrastructure and private-sector participation with case studies including Namibia’s potable reuse programme, Uganda’s non-revenue water initiatives and Cape Town’s day zero response.

The Project & Investment Network, now part of the event’s executive experience, will continue to connect project developers, financiers and utility leaders. Organisers say the platform has facilitated US$3 billion in project pitches over the past two years.

The Utility CEO Forum and Municipal Forum will also return, covering topics such as utility sustainability, tariff reform, metering and service delivery.

Enlit Africa 2026 aims to provide a platform for engagement across the continent’s evolving energy and water sectors.
