Farm to power plant: The rising role of biomass

The International Energy Agency estimates that global biomass power production will increase nearly tenfold by 2050, reaching 3 000 TWh. Some of this will be sourced from existing biomass like forest and agricultural waste while the majority will come from new fuel or energy crops.
