Africa’s vast geothermal energy potential remains largely untapped despite its abundance and the technological advancements that allow for power generation without needing high-temperature resources.

At the recent Africa Energy Indaba 2025 in Cape Town, a panel discussion, “Geothermal Energy for Africa”, discussed how, with proper investment and regulatory frameworks, geothermal energy could reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
