The Africa Energy Indaba (AEI) 2023, which was held at the Cape Town International Conference Centre (CTICC) from 7-9 March, has been hailed as a resounding success, with industry experts from across the continent and beyond assembling to discuss and debate the most pressing issues facing the energy sector.
This year's theme, ‘African Energy transitioning to a sustainable and prosperous future’, focused on how the energy industry plays a pivotal and transformative role in driving economic growth across the continent.
The event, which ranks among the most significant energy conferences in Africa, attracted a broad spectrum of attendees, including government officials, private sector representatives, investors, and academia. The Africa Energy Indaba conference, officially sold out, before the event started. Over the course of three days, participants engaged in thought-provoking dialogues on an extensive range of topics, from innovative technological solutions to resilient strategies for realising sustainable energy access for all.
The AEI of 2023 showcased a wide array of keynote speakers, including highly esteemed personalities from the African and global energy landscape. Further, there were multiple breakout sessions, workshops, and networking events that enabled attendees to interact with their counterparts. Next year's AEI
The success of the AE 2023 has paved the way for the 2024 event, which promises to be even more exciting and informative. “We look forward to building on that momentum as we await next year’s event which is scheduled to take place from 5 to 7 March 2024 at the CTICC in Cape Town,” stated Liz Hart. The theme will be announced in the coming months, and the organisers are committed to ensuring that the continent’s signature event remains a catalyst for fostering advancement and expansion in the African energy industry, connecting visionary minds and inventive approaches to build a brighter, more sustainable future for all.
