Sunrise Energy is pleased to inform the public that deliveries of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) at its terminal in Saldanha Bay have resumed as conditions at sea have improved. This follows last week’s announcement of delays caused by rough, stormy seas and adverse weather conditions at Saldanha Port.

Deliveries resumed on Tuesday, 31 August after the Ports Authority permitted LPG vessels to enter the port. The Authority had suspended entry to the port ahead of the cold front which made landfall on Thursday, 26 August.
To ensure supply to LPG users, Sunrise Energy has extended the terminal’s operating hours to expedite the loading of trucks. At least 30 trucks are expected to be loaded today alone.
The Sunrise terminal, which facilitates the transfer of LPG from exporters’ vessels to the importer’ trucks, has performed remarkably throughout the winter, and its world-class Multi-Buoy Mooring (MBM) has enabled fast, efficient restocking following entry suspensions by the Ports Authority.
Sunrise Energy is proud to serve the people of the Western Cape and the region, and we will continue to ensure that LPG users enjoy a safe, reliable service at the Saldanha Port..
