City Power pilots grid-managed EV charging

City Power’s first municipal electric vehicle (EV) charging complex is being used as a pilot project to test how large-scale EV charging can be integrated into Johannesburg’s constrained electricity network through a hybrid solar, battery storage and grid-supplied system.
