Cape Town expands solar projects and trials anti-theft tech to protect grid assets

Cape Town is ramping up municipal energy generation and grid digitisation to reduce dependence on Eskom, support private generators and protect critical infrastructure. Officials shared project milestones and new anti-theft technology trials at Enlit Africa 2025 in Cape Town from May 20-22.
