About African Energy Dialogues
African Energy Dialogues were first introduced by partners WRI, SE for ALL, UNECA, and AFREC on the sidelines of the Africa Climate Summit and Africa Climate Week in September 2023 in Nairobi as “Africa’s Energy Transitions Dialogue Platform.” The initiative will be formally launched as African Energy Dialogues at COP28.
The Dialogues create an inclusive space for African voices to converge and support the development of nuanced, evidenced-based energy pathways for African countries. The Dialogues will engage public and private sector stakeholders, research institutions, civil society, and development partners on issues related to the design and implementation of African countries' energy pathways.
