Keys to securing a solar project in round four of South Africa’s REIPPPP

- Advertisment -

A webinar which will be held on 2 July 2014 is set to reveal the key factors which could form a solar project winning bid in the upcoming fourth round the South African REIPPP programme. Davin Chown, the chairperson of the South African Photovoltaic Association (SAPVIA), and Marc Levre, a  partner at Baker and McKenzie, are the webinar participants. They have been selected for their exceptional knowledge of the programme and the key trends which have emerged from it to date.

Competition among project developers is heating up ahead of the fourth round bid registration on 21 July and bid submission on 18 August.

The aim of this webinar is to update participants regarding the key trends and changes which have occurred during the first three rounds of the programme. There have been significant changes in the way project procurement and site selection take place and these need to be factored into any new bid.

The South African government’s REIPPP programme has been a key driver in growing the industry by over 1 GW of capacity in past three years. The exponential growth of the market has made it a hotbed for inward investment with many developers entering the market.

PV Project Development Africa 2014, which will take place on 9 and 10 September at the Maslow hotel in Sandton, will be the central forum for the sub-Saharan market to meet key developers including SolarCapital, Momentous Energy, Aurora Power Solutions, and others, which are all coming together to discuss lessons learnt from the REIPPPP so far.
