RE: Eskom curtails power from wind farms due to low demand
With Eskom still pumping pollutants into the air from their coal fired power stations, I would have thought that they would have jumped at the opportunity to show the world that they are serious about phasing out their coal fired generation plant. After all, they have committed themselves to reducing the pollution they produce.
We are told over and over again that we count for only 2% of the world economy. Should our levels of pollution therefore not also be of the same order? (maybe a little higher because most of the rest of the world is making an attempt to reduce their output of toxic gases while we seem to have other agendas).
We do however have areas where the levels of toxic gases that we produce are dangerous to those living there. Would it not be a better idea to use the wind generators and put some of the working coal powered generators on standby?
