The new DLR02 low-resistance ohmmeters from Megger are ideally suited to many applications, including those where it is necessary to work with long test leads. What makes these testers unique is the innovative comparison function which is invaluable in production line testing and industrial application alike.
These novel 2 A handheld instruments are robust, intuitive, and easy to use, even for those with little experience of low-resistance testing. The ability to deliver dependable results with long test leads is a key benefit when, for example, testing wind turbines where it is necessary to measure the resistance from the ground to the wing tips. This can often require test leads that are more than 100 m long. Even if the resistance of the leads is as high as 3 Ω, the DLR02 can work with a test current of 1 A to provide fast and accurate results with a resolution of 1 μΩ.
As well as the ability to measure and display resistance values directly, the DLR02 also has an innovative difference meter where it stores a baseline result and then shows subsequent measurements in terms of percentage difference from this value. This feature is particularly useful for testing series manufactured products where the nominal resistance value for the product is stored, and the instrument user merely must note whether products subsequently tested are within the permissible percentage tolerance range.
The DLR02 can also display three measurements at the same time which is also useful when working with three-phase equipment as it provides a quick, easy, and reliable way of comparing the resistance measurements for the three phases.

In short, it’s a novel instrument that’s been carefully designed to meet the needs of today’s users.”
Although lightweight and compact, the DLR02 boasts robust construction and IP 54 ingress protection rating, making it resistant to shocks as well as wet or dusty environments. Designed with safety in mind, the instrument has CATIV 300 V/CAT III 600 V safety ratings in line with IEC 61010, which means that it is suitable for use on all types of low-voltage industrial systems.
